Nicest campground in Eastern Canada
The Taylors
The Best of Cape Breton
The most impressive campground on Cape Breton Island for views, beaches, cleaniness, campsite space and hospitality. We will definitely visit every summer.

A Welcoming Environment
I rarely ever leave comments but I think something needs to be said about this campground. It’s true what they say about coming as strangers and leaving as friends. Everyone there is really friendly & it’s a nice welcoming environment. We chatted with Alex upon arrival whom gave us great information about our trip to Meat Cove the following day, said he was going there as well. He even remembered us when we passed him on the road in Meat Cove & waved. It’s just something small but really makes you feel welcome.

You’ll Want to Come Back
Located at the north tip of Cape Breton Island, the Hideaway Campground is a place you’ll want to come back to again & again. The view of the ocean & mountains is beautiful.

Perfect Stopover on a Rainy Evening
Another random choice on our tour around the Cabot Trail. Chose an un-serviced cabin on a drizzly evening, just didn’t feel like setting up the tent. Great choice, warm, dry, and comfortable. Phenomenal view as an added bonus. Our hosts were fantastic; friendly, informative, accommodating. We treated ourselves to a couple of dozen oysters. So delicious we had to have another dozen. As we were leaving, we were even treated to a tour of their hatchery and a lesson on raising oysters. A must stop for a weary traveler.

Lovely Cottage
Stayed there in early August as a family for 2 nights. The cottage was lovely and the owners are very welcoming. The oysters, crabs and lobsters were all very fresh. Gave us a demo on how to open an oyster. We really enjoyed our time there.
